Quick Facts about our Diocesan Mission Colombia
· Our Diocese regularly feeds more than 100 children daily in our church in Puerto Valdivia, Colombia.
· Mission Colombia has raised more than $30,000 in six months. More than 98% of this went directly to meet needs and provide joy to those we serve in Colombia. This includes money set aside to start a sewing school to strengthen women in Puerto Valdivia, a church roof, and much much more.
How you can participate in World Mission Sunday: pray, give, and go
1) Pray
2) Give alms
World mission is advanced not only by preaching but also by faithful, Gospel-shaped generosity. Alms-giving is one of the Church’s most practical ways to “send” others. Consider the following:
3) Go—wisely, humbly, and in partnership
Short-term trips are most fruitful when they strengthen long-term relationships, serve local leadership, and contribute to sustainable ministry. New Wineskins regularly emphasizes collaboration, training, and healthy partnership across the global Church—so that mission is not a “project,” but a shared life in Christ.
Our diocesan program, Mission Colombia, does just that, and starting later in February, Mission Colombia will begin holding interest calls for those within our Diocese who are feeling called to go on a Diocesan global mission trip to Colombia. The first call is scheduled for Thursday, February 26th at 6:00 pm. To register for this call, please email missioncolombiadoq@gmail.comto receive the Zoom link.
